Hours and hours of painful, increasingly strong contractions last night starting at 10:30, consistently 4-6 minutes apart.

I didn't tell anyone or call anyone, because I just knew it wasn't real... but I hoped.

All stopped at 5:00. Not even a twinge for 2 hours. Sonofabitch.

I'm so tired of waking up not in labor.

This whole pregnancy I've been content waiting for baby. Up until last week when I hit 39 weeks and now I am so done.

When I think about it I was certain it would be 39 weeks because that's when Dmitri was born. Sunday before last when at 38+5 I had a night full of regular contractions I thought "Wow, you could set a Swiss watch by my uterus" ( Read more... )

I've gotten to the point where baby flipping and turning has started to hurt sometimes. She's almost out of room and a very strong wiggler. Even when it's not painful the sensations are very... odd, compared to just a few weeks ago. Less like a graceful dance and more like a desperate fish on dry land.

Baby girl is sneaky.

Ultrasound yesterday, everything was good for the first 15 minutes or so (or in other words long enough to flash her junk and wave) and then she turned her back to the Doppler and curled into a ball with her arms across her chest and her legs crossed and REFUSED to move for the remaining 45 minutes... regardless of how many ( Read more... )

I had the most horrible "growing pains" in my belly yesterday, not contractions at all but stabbing muscle spasms... I even called the clinic to make sure I wasn't having a serious problem. They eased after about 3 hours and afterward my belly was enormous.

Yesterday we hit the half way point. 20 weeks. For just a second I thought to myself "hey, that was pretty quick" and then I remembered how miserable the first 1/3 was.

Amazing how feeling good can change that memory.

I shot an event last night, it was at a trendy (but not too upscale) restaurant/lounge. Early on I was standing in a hallway and a waiter came walking past me, noticing my camera.

Him: What kind of Canon do you have?
Me: Mark II
Him: I have the Mark III
Me: Nice.
Him: Yeah, it makes the Mark II look like a toy (walking away) all the real pros use it.
